Having not lived in the time before Hinata Hyūga took over as clan leader, Souken prefers the clan return to how it once was before she "ruined everything". In his opinion, things were much simpler and the clan was more at peace and united compared to how it is now. Souken's parents are on opposite sides of the conflict, implying his home life is especially bitter.

Shinachiku Uzumaki
Souken has a sour spot towards Shinachiku since Shinachiku is Naruto’s son who “can’t mind his own business” and also pushed for change within the Hyuuga clan even though he is not a Hyuuga. Although Shinachiku has no malice towards Souken, the feeling is not mutual.
